Summer BBQ-ing with Katchkie Farm

Katchkie Farm is a 60-acre organic farm in Catskills in upstate New York, committed to celebrating local flavors while supporting sustainable agriculture. Katchkie Farm supplies Great Performances catering company and its affiliated cafes, farmers markets, and a line of artisanal products. Made in small batches Katchkie is committed to showcasing the flavors of the vegetables and fruits grown on the farm–you can just taste the freshness of summer in their products.

We also feel very good about this company because the farm pledges 5% of their harvest to fight hunger and in 2005 founded The Sylvia Center, a non-profit to educate children to eat well through cooking classes and visits to the farm. The profits from Katchkie Farm's artisanal products support the program. So these jars are truly a gift that gives. Our Summer BBQ Basket ($89) is filled with items to help with summer entertaining: napkins, plates and Tyrrells Potato Chips, to hold guest over until the main course is served, as well as four jars of Katchkie Farms products that will inspire summer grilling.

• Katchkie Ketchup: Not your kids ketchup this one is rich in flavor and provides a balance of sweet and spicy flavors that complement the fresh flavor of the tomatoes.
• Salsa Verde: Simply made with just 6 ingredients:organic tomatillos, onion, cilantro, jalapeño pepper, garlic, salt, and cider vinegar. This is summer in a jar.
• Bob-B-Q Sauce: Named after the the guy in the photo above, Farmer Bob is a gaint literally at 6 feet 3 inches, and he runs the whole farm. Apples and mustard seeds give this Bob-A-Que sauce a wonderfully complex flavor. Thick and hardy, this sauce will not run off your meat and will make sure to keep it moist and flavorful. 
• Tomato Jam: This jam brings out the savory flavors of tomatoes, great with cheese and crackers to entertain while you grill. Organic tomatoes, onions, cider vinegar, garlic, sugar, salt, cayenne pepper, cloves, allspice, and ginger that’s all that goes into this savory spread. Has a kick from the cayenne but the sweetness of the tomatoes helps even the flavor out. Perfect for eggs, add to some crisp bread for an appetizer, or add it to a sandwich.
